Especially after I came back from the U.S., I think Japan has so much strange characters around the daily life. I like them, because it's fun to see it, but at the same time, really curious about low-quality characters and it's designers. What's wrong with them!? Haha. Tarepanda
used to be a big movement here in Japan, however I think it never happened in other countries. But I recently like Mameshiba, so I think I can't really complain about Characterholic Japan. Images are funny characters which I found. Enjoy.
Rough Animation of "bean" character, Mameshiba it tells you small trivias. Check out videos, if you can understand Japanese.
People say "creepy-cute" for this baseball mascot character Doara.
Bunny character on the juice package. Is that strange shape mouth or mustache?
I found them at the rest area of highway, they are hot-dog like characters... They even have names. From left "Imocchi", "American-dokkun"(kunrefers to "Mr."), "Frankun"... very funny.
Character from cotton candy package. I thought it's funny and, somehow I bought it. haha
And this is the last one for today, "Fuji-chan".(Chan is a cute way to tell name for girls in Japan) This is based on Mt. Fuji. Making character from mountain is such a great idea, isn't it? Maybe only Japanese people think so. Well, I thinks it's kinda cute though. haha
